Kew Gardens covers 326 acres and holds the largest living plant collection in the world. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located about 30 minutes from central London. Visitors can explore several glasshouses. The Palm House contains a tropical rainforest. The Princess of Wales Conservatory features ten climate zones. The Temperate House, the largest surviving Victorian glasshouse, was restored in 2018 and displays more than 10,000 plants. The Hive is a 17 m high installation about bees and marks its tenth anniversary in 2026. The Treetop Walkway offers views over the gardens. Visitors can also walk along the Great Broad Walk Borders, visit botanical art galleries and exhibitions, or relax at the onsite restaurants. The Carbon Garden includes a pavilion inspired by fungi and provides information about climate change and how plants can help address it. As a science charity, RBG Kew works to reduce biodiversity loss and develop nature-based solutions to global challenges.
