- Nijo Castle is closed every Tuesdays in January, July, August and December. If closed, Ryoan-Ji Temple will be visited instead.
- Kyoto Imperial Palace is closed every public holiday. If closed, Kitano Tenmangu Shrine will be visited instead (beautiful during the plum blossom and autumn leaf seasons).
