Completed in 1889 by Gustave Eiffel’s engineering firm for the World’s Fair, the Eiffel Tower rises 330 meters (1,083 feet) above Paris and stands as a milestone of innovation and bold design. What began as a daring experiment in iron construction has evolved into a refined visitor experience spread across three distinct levels, each offering its own perspective on the city.

The first floor features a glass floor, exhibitions, and restaurants where you can dine while looking out over Paris. The second floor is home to one of the city’s most celebrated dining venues and offers sweeping views ideal for photography. At the summit, reached by elevator, the panorama stretches for miles, revealing Paris in its full grandeur. Beyond its role as a viewpoint, the tower continues to function as a broadcasting hub, blending everyday utility with timeless elegance.

Booking your Eiffel Tower tickets online is the easiest and most reliable way to visit this world-famous landmark. While tickets may be available on-site, advance booking secures your preferred time slot and helps you avoid long queues, especially during peak season.

By booking through our website, you access verified Eiffel Tower tickets and attractive online deals, ensuring a smooth and secure experience. Choose from a wide range of options, including elevator or guided stair access, reserved entry to the second floor or summit, combo deals with other Paris attractions, lunch or dinner at the Eiffel Tower, or Paris city passes that bundle multiple experiences into one convenient purchase.

The Eiffel Tower was built for the 1889 World's Fair, commemorating the centennial of the French Revolution. Designed by Gustave Eiffel's company, it was initially intended to be a temporary structure. However, its height and innovative design quickly made it a symbol of Paris.

Construction began in 1887 and took just over two years, involving hundreds of workers. At the time, it was the tallest man-made structure in the world, standing at 330 meters (1,083 feet) tall. Despite initial criticism from some of Paris's leading artists and intellectuals, the Eiffel Tower soon became a popular attraction and a symbol of France's industrial prowess.

Today, it remains one of the most visited monuments in the world, a testament to its enduring appeal and historical significance.

The Eiffel Tower is open daily, with extended hours during the summer season. Opening times vary slightly depending on the time of year and access type.

April to August (Summer Season)

• Eiffel Tower open: 8:45 AM – 12:45 AM

• Elevator access: 9:00 AM – 12:00 AM

Last Entry

• Final entry is permitted 1 hour before closing time

The best time to visit the Eiffel Tower depends on the experience you’re looking for.

Early mornings, shortly after opening, are ideal for fewer crowds and shorter security lines, especially if you plan to visit the summit. Late evenings are also a great option, offering a more relaxed atmosphere and beautiful views as Paris lights up after dark.

For photography, sunset is the most popular time, with golden light transitioning into nighttime city views, but expect the longest queues during this period. Weekdays are generally calmer than weekends, while summer months (June to August) are the busiest overall. Visiting outside peak hours or booking timed-entry tickets in advance helps ensure a smoother and more enjoyable experience.

The Eiffel Tower unfolds across three distinct levels, each revealing a different side of Paris.

• The first floor invites you onto its glass floor, where you can look straight down to the Champ de Mars and feel the tower’s impressive scale beneath your feet.
• The second floor offers sweeping panoramic views, along with shops and renowned dining spots that let you admire the city from above.
• At the summit, the highest accessible point, Paris stretches endlessly in every direction. Here, you can visit Gustave Eiffel’s restored office and toast the moment at the champagne bar.

Moving upward through the tower reveals new perspectives at every level, making the visit a journey of discovery as much as a sightseeing experience.

Before visiting the Eiffel Tower, it’s helpful to keep a few practical points in mind:

• Arrive at least 15–20 minutes before your scheduled entry time to allow for mandatory security checks.
• Eiffel Tower Ticket types vary and should be checked carefully before booking. Options include stair access, elevator access, second-floor tickets, and summit tickets, each offering a different experience and price level.
• Booking Eiffel Tower tickets online in advance is strongly recommended to secure your preferred option and avoid long waits on-site.
• All visitors, including children, should carry a valid ID, as it may be requested at entry.
• Wear comfortable shoes, particularly if you plan to climb the stairs or spend time exploring multiple levels.
• Weather conditions matter, as upper levels can be windy and cooler than ground level.
• The East Entrance (Le Pilier Est) in the gardens is often less crowded than the South Entrance and can save time.
• Keep personal belongings secure, as the area around the tower can be crowded.

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors, the Eiffel Tower has several rules. These typically include:

• No large bags or luggage allowed (no storage facilities on site).
• Security checks are mandatory.
• No climbing over barriers or railings.
• Respect the structure and other visitors.
• Follow instructions from staff members.

A visit to the Eiffel Tower is an essential part of any trip to Paris. Rising above the city with unmistakable presence, it offers views that reveal Paris at its most spectacular: from grand boulevards and historic monuments to the gentle curve of the Seine. Yet its impact goes far beyond the panorama. Standing on the tower, you experience a landmark that embodies French innovation, ambition, and identity.

The ascent itself builds anticipation, and reaching the upper levels delivers a powerful sense of scale and perspective that few places can match. Whether it’s your first visit or a return to the city, the Eiffel Tower leaves a lasting impression that defines the Paris experience.

The Eiffel Tower is located on the Champ de Mars at 5 Avenue Anatole France in central Paris and is easy to reach by public transportation.

• By metro, take lines 6, 8, or 9 and get off at Bir-Hakeim or Passy.
• The RER C line stops at Champ de Mars–Tour Eiffel or Pont de l’Alma.
• Bus lines 42 and 82 also stop nearby at Tour Eiffel or Champ de Mars.
• Walking is another pleasant option if you’re already in central Paris.

Eiffel Tower Entrances:
