The Royal Mews, Buckingham Palace
La Royal Mews è una delle più belle scuderie funzionanti al mondo e ospita la collezione reale di carrozze storiche e i Windsor Greys e Cleveland Bays, i cavalli che trainano le carrozze. Ancora oggi, le scuderie sono responsabili di tutti gli spostamenti su strada di Sua Maestà il Re e degli altri membri della Famiglia Reale.
La Royal Mews è stata la sede dei trasporti su strada del sovrano fin dal 1760, quando Giorgio III spostò la sua collezione di carrozze più vicino alla sua nuova casa a Buckingham Palace; da allora è stata aggiornata da diversi monarchi in base alle loro mutevoli esigenze di trasporto.
Tra le carrozze e le carrozze storiche in mostra ci sono la spettacolare Diamond Jubilee State Coach e l'Australian State Coach, regalata alla Regina Elisabetta II dal popolo australiano e dotata persino di riscaldamento centralizzato!
