Child policy: - Children under 6 years are free of charge, but no seats will be reserved. - Each paying adult may only bring one child who is eligible for free admission. Good to know: - Dress code: conservative (women shoulders, knees and ankles covered; men: no shorts) - Nijo Castle is closed every Tuesdays in January, July, August and December. If closed, Ryoan-Ji Temple will be visited instead. - Kyoto Imperial Palace is closed every public holiday. If closed, Kitano Tenmangu Shrine will be visited instead (beautiful during the plum blossom and autumn leaf seasons).
