L'histoire

Cette histoire sur les épreuves et les tribulations de l'amour est centrée sur deux couples : Orphée et Eurydice, qui vivent dans la pauvreté, et le roi des enfers, Hadès, et sa femme, Perséphone. Lorsque Perséphone est mécontente de retourner aux Enfers après avoir visité le monde d'en haut, Hadès part à la recherche de quelqu'un qui appréciera les offrandes de sa maison. Il retrouve Eurydice et la convainc de s'installer aux Enfers en échange de nourriture et de protection. Eurydice accepte et devient ouvrière à Hadestown, la sombre usine souterraine d'Hadès. Lorsqu'Orphée l'apprend, il jure de sauver Eurydice. Il s'ensuit une histoire déchirante de sacrifice, de triomphe et de mystérieuses machinations du destin.
