Описание Park Güell Tickets, Tours & Visitor Information

Park Güell was originally conceived as a residential estate, commissioned by Eusebi Güell, who sought to create a stylish park for Barcelona’s aristocracy. However, the project was never completed as intended, and in 1926 it was opened as a public park. Antoni Gaudí's unique vision is evident throughout the park, with its playful architecture and integration with the natural landscape

The park’s design incorporates Catalan Modernist style, featuring organic shapes, vibrant colors, and intricate mosaics. The structures within the park, such as the famous mosaic bench and the gingerbread-like gatehouses, are designed to blend seamlessly with the surrounding nature, creating a harmonious and magical environment. Today, Park Güell stands as a testament to Gaudí’s genius and a beloved landmark of Barcelona, attracting more than 4.4 million visitors per year.

История

The history of Park Güell dates back to the early 20th century when Eusebi Güell, a wealthy industrialist, commissioned Antoni Gaudí to design a residential park for Barcelona’s elite. Güell envisioned a community of modern homes set within a natural park, but the project was largely unsuccessful, with only two houses being built. Despite the lack of residential interest, Gaudí continued to develop the park's unique features, including the mosaic benches, the Hypostyle Room, and the iconic dragon fountain.

After Güell’s death in 1918, the park was sold to the city of Barcelona and opened to the public in 1926. Over the years, Park Güell has become one of Barcelona’s most popular tourist attractions, drawing millions of visitors each year to admire Gaudí’s architectural genius and the park's stunning natural beauty. In 1984, it was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, recognizing its cultural and historical significance.

The meeting point was a little confusing; it wasn't super clear at first. I did learn a lot about Gaudi's inspiration though. The cable car was a treat.

Le Park Güell était magnifique, mais j'aurais aimé un peu plus de temps pour explorer à mon rythme. La durée prévue pour le bus hop-on hop-off était parfaite.

it was quite crowded inside Park Güell, especially near the main mosaic areas. I did appreciate the info about Gaudi's architectural style. The hop-on-hop-off bus was great for getting around the city after.

c'era un po' di folla all'ingresso del Park Güell, ma ne è valsa la pena. La qualità dell'audio guida era ottima e chiara. Nel complesso, è stata una visita molto piacevole.
